Therefore, we strive to cultivate a culture of ongoing learning and skill enhancement through mentorship programs, networking events, and collaborative projects. We hope that this competition shall not only act as a platform to discover cyber security talents, but it can as well be an opportunity to develop the next generation of Africa cybersecurity professionals.

Technical Category

Digital Forensics

Uncover hidden clues and solve mysteries in the digital realm with Digital Forensics challenges. Dive deep into the art of analyzing digital evidence, recovering hidden data, and understanding the history of digital interactions. This category will test your ability to dissect digital footprints and piece together information to solve intricate puzzles.

Network Security

Navigating the intricate web of network security challenges where you will be tasked with uncovering hidden clues in network data. Explore vulnerabilities, and analyse log files. In this category, your skills in analysing and detecting subtle clues in network data will be put to test.

Ethical Hacking

Embrace the role of an ethical hacker as you attempt to breach systems with the purpose of identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities. Ethical Hacking challenges will allow you to put your offensive security skills to the test, exploring weaknesses that need strengthening. Learn to use  tools and tactics used by ethical hacking to safeguard against  intrusions.

Non-technical Category

Social Engineering (Phishing and Vishing) - More details to be provided

Experience the psychology of cyber manipulation through the Social Engineering challenges. Understand the techniques used by malicious actors to deceive individual into revealing sensitive information. Put yourself in the role of a malicious actor to pilfer sensitive information through phishing emails and vishing attempts. This category will help you develop a keen eye for spotting and defending against social engineering attacks.


You can participate as a solo candidate or in a team. When participating in a team, only a team of two (2) people are allowed for the Digital Forensics, Network Security and Ethical Hacking categories. For Social Engineering category, a team of up to four (4) people are allowed.

Eligibility Criteria and Rules

  • Must be age 18 or above
  • A resident of Botswana
  • Participants must have registered to participate before the deadline and have received a confirmation of being selected for participate.
  • If a participants is found at any time to not meet the above requirements, he/she would not be allowed to participate.
